I thought everything was going so well. The first two books were out on schedule. Book 3 looked like it was going to hit it targets. Books 4 and 5 are plotted out and ready to write.
And then it all went down the rabbit hole.
On one hand, my beloved partner decides the kitchen 'needs a refresh'. Guess whose job that was going to be?
And on the other, things did not go according to plan with The Bloodfire Chronicles. Don't get me wrong—everybody who read it loved it, and the reviews have been most kind. The problem is the cover, and the title.
Well I had not expected that. But a little more research showed it was true, and that the alternatives I had in mind were better received. So Jane gets a new face and a new title: Broken Witch. And the fallout from that means Blood Hunt and Demon's Promise (Book 3) all needed new covers too.
So that, plus new kitchen floors and worktops, means I am officially broke (temporarily) and worn out.
Don't worry. I'm back to writing now, and hopefully there will be better take up of the new covers. Demon's Promise will be out by the end of the month (as long as the new cover gets made in time), and I'll be starting on Book 4 as soon as I get back from a short (but well earned) vacation.
One more change to look out for. From the next newsletter, there will be a section at the bottom where I feature some promotions and lists containing books and deals you may be interested in. They are there if you want them, but down the bottom and out the way if you don't.
Onwards, and happy reading to you all
